I got this to solve a very prominent low-level feedback hum coming through my TV and sound system speakers, and by running my cable line through this system, it fixed it! No more *very annoying* hum. Also, I can really see an marked improvement in the quality of the picture and hear a difference in the sound, particularly with cable channels.Originally, I purchased the Monster HDP 1800 PowerCenter, but lost about one-third of my cable channels due to interference from the unit with the cable signal. Even installing a signal amplifier didn't solve the issue. But taking those back and getting the Panamax in its place solved everything. According to Panamax, they have the lowest loss of cable signal in the industry (< 0.5 dB). Plus, the protection is superior.
The unit has a convenient outlet and USB charging station on the front, and is also very nice looking--much nicer looking than the one I originally purchased in my opinion.
