I bought this at walmart and my friend needed to buy one and so I went looking for this one because it works great for me for a great price. It has good mid-range joule protection, plenty for city and urban life. You might want to go higher if you live out in the woods where lightning is a legitimate threat. However, for the average urbanite this is perfect! it has 7 plug in ports with sliding caps for safely closing unused plugs. It has a pass through protection for your coaxial cable which is great and something people don't usually think about. Power surges can come through the hardwired cable lines in your walls too! The fact that this also has a noise filter on it was a huge selling point. You get the benefits of a power conditioner(at entry level results) which matters most for audiophiles and anyone who runs high end sound system components or guitar amps of any kind. The indicator for the fuse is really great! At a glance, you can see if the fuse has been consumed by a surge or if systems are a go. Much Much better than just an on/off indicator!
