Belkin F9H601aCW Wall Mount Surge Protector (White) Review

I purchased two of these (Belkin F9H601aCW 6-Outlet Wall Mount Surge Suppressor) on two occasions over a one year period. The documentation which was included is meager at best. This unit has two LEDs. The case labels the left one as "protected" and the right one as "grounded." However, the documentation says:

INDICATOR LIGHTS
* The "Protected" light should be on when the power switch is turned on. If this light goes out at any time, it means your surge suppressor was sacrificed to protect your equipment and should be replaced.
* The "Not Grounded" light should not be on. If this light turns on, you may have a ground-wiring problem in your home... If your home is properly grounded and the surge suppressor's "Not Grounded" indicator light is on, please contact Belkin...."

The CASE identifies the light as "grounded" but the DOCUMENTATION identifies it as "not grounded." Huh?

Searching Belkin's own website for "F9H601aCW" turns up nothing. Searching for "6-Outlet" turns up only the similar F9H620-CW. It's similar, but not a new/replacement model for the F9H601aCW. The F9H620-CW also has power protection for phone lines which this one doesn't and has greater protection (1045 joules versus just 700 for this one). It is utterly ridiculous that Belkin doesn't have documentation on its own website for its own product. A quick web search reveals dozens of national vendors selling the F9H601aCW, so it's not like this is a special model only available to s single vendor. There is no excuse for Belkin's lack of quality documentation.

The picture on the Amazon site shows the "grounded" light in YELLOW, but nowhere is there any explanation of the COLOR of the "grounded" light. I own two of these. My "grounded" lights are GREEN, not yellow.

Every time I've ever purchased a Belkin product, I end up being disappointed. Why I keep giving them another chance, I have no idea (fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice....)Over the years I've purchased one of their routers, two of their wireless access points and a couple of surge suppressors. They just don't measure up.

If you buy Belkin, be prepared to GUESS whether you're protected.
